Title: GED/Basic Skills Instructor Center: MAOF Bakersfield Office (Kern County) Salary: $22.00 Openings: 1 Position Status: Full Time Closing Date: Open until filled
Responsible for the implementations of Basic skills, GED and ESL Curriculum to target customers in the CalWORKs help students pass the GED exam or help them increase Basic Skills levels and ESL Curriculum. Classroom instruction should be interactive and incorporate a variety of teaching techniques, materials and resources to fit the students’ learning style.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a two (2) year degree program from a community college and passage of the California Basic Educational Skill Test (CBEST) or a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in a vocational training environment required and passage of the GED Ready with a minimum score of 145 in Reasoning Through Language Arts and Mathematics to be taken at the MAOF.
Ability to perform complex program requirements.
Strong organizational, analytic, and administrative skills.
Proficient in reading, writing, math, and understanding of work-related material.
Strong written and oral communication skills required.
Excellent customer service and problem resolution skills.
Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet.
Experience handling sensitive and confidential matters.
Sensitivity and ability to work well with diverse social, ethnic, religious, and cultural groups.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Must possess own vehicle, a valid California Driver’s License and appropriate automobile insurance at all times.
Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination, drug screening and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance.
Must provide vaccination records for Pertussis (Tdap), Measles (MMR) and Influenza (optional).
Will be fingerprinted and must clear through DOJ and FBI.
