Job Summary
The Program Accountant will be directly responsible for the month-end closing, preparation of required government cost reports on a monthly or quarterly basis, fiscal year-end closeout reports required by government funding sources for programs assigned, audit schedules at fiscal year-end for programs under him/her, processing of Request for Purchase and PO, annual budget preparation for programs assigned, contract financial compliance, implementation of accounting policies and procedures, and other ad hoc tasks assigned from time to time in relation to annual audit, month-end closing, and program fiscal monitoring by the various government funding sources.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Minimum of two (2) years accounting experience in the Accounting Department of a for-profit or nonprofit organization.
Strong accounting and analysis skills.
Strong computer experience in accounting and spreadsheet applications required; working knowledge of MIP Fund Accounting software a plus.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the public; work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues; and multi-tasking.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with employees.
Being an effective team player.
Excellent mathematical skills.
Computer literate.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Special Qualifications
Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination, drug screening and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance.
Must provide vaccination records for Pertussis (Tdap), Measles (MMR) and Influenza (optional).
Will be fingerprinted and must clear through DOJ and FBI.
Must provide proof of COVID 19 vaccination or apply for exemption.
