Title: Program Specialist Program: MAOF Senior Program (Los Angeles, County) Salary Range: $18.00 Openings: 1 Position Status: Full-Time Closing Date: Open until filled
Under the direction of the program director, the program specialist will conduct community outreach for seniors and persons with disabilities. Advocate on behalf of seniors/disabled/and caregivers to care management programs or to public benefits which clients has difficulty accessing, and/or assisting in completing application. Will also conduct follow-ups of referrals on a monthly basis. Maintain accurate calendar of events appointments and schedules.
High School Diploma or equivalent; AA degree or higher preferred,
One (1) year experience in community service work. To include, professional or volunteer experience coordinating social services for senior citizens and caregivers;
Knowledge of physical, social, cultural and special population activities;
Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding work related material;
Ability to work flexible days and hours, including some evenings and weekends, if required;
Good verbal and written communication skills;
Flexibility to work weekends, as required.
Computer literate (word, excel, an outlook)
Must meet State health requirements: Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance.
Must have a valid California Driver’s License, have use of a motor vehicle and provide evidence of automobile liability insurance.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
Starting Salary: $18.00 per hour
