Job Summary
Area Supervisor/Mentor Coach is responsible for directing,coordinate and supervise multiple Early Head Start-CCP sites, program departments and/or subordinates (Site Supervisors). Area Supervisor/Mentor Coach is responsible for the planning and development of new or existing childcare facilities. Area Supervisor/Mentor Coach ensures adherence to organization and program policies,standards and procedures. Works as part of the integrated management team for the program. Provides quality improvement, support coaching and mentoring to the teaching staff, ensuring a high-quality early education environment for children birth to 4-years old. The purpose of coaching/mentoring is to support and expand early educator’s knowledge on early education best practices as well as the common tools and resources available through mentoring, training and technical assistance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in child development,education, educational administration, business administration or management. If major is in anon-management discipline, you must possess at least twelve (12) semester units in administration or management.
Must possess a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit from the State Department of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Minimum3 (3) years of progressively more responsible management or supervisory experience.
Experience with Early Childhood Education and direct experience managing a government funded program, preferred.
Ability to deal with conceptual matter.
Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.
Computer literate.
Bilingual(English and Spanish) required.
Special Qualifications
Must complete AB 1207 California Childcare Providers: Mandated Reporter Training within 90 days of hire, renewed every two (2) years.
Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination, drug screening and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance.
Must provide vaccination records for Pertussis (Tdap), Measles (MMR) and Influenza(optional).
Will be fingerprinted and must clear through DOJ and FBI.
Must possess own vehicle, valid California Driver’s License and at minimum, general liability automobile insurance.
Hold a valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
