The Outreach Specialist will assist in identifying, coordinating, and executing all outreach activities for CalWORKs Stages 1, 2, 3 and APP. This position will be responsible for presenting at outreach events throughout the service areas to increase the enrollments in all CalWORKs programs.
Requirements:
Education& Experience: High School Diploma or GED; preferred background in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related fields. Experience with the Los Angeles County Welfare System and CalWORKs is a plus.
Language Skills: Proficient in verbal and written English and Spanish.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Transportation: Must have a valid driver's license, current insurance, and own automobile.
Flexibility: Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Self-Motivation: Independent, self-motivated with excellent prioritization, project management,and problem-solving abilities.
Cultural Sensitivity: Familiarity with delivering culturally responsive services and maintaining confidentiality.
Professionalism: Represent MAOF positively and professionally while building cooperative working relationships.
Public Engagement: Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to address customer inquiries effectively.
Confidentiality: Experience handling sensitive matters and a commitment to quality service.
Background Check: Must be fingerprinted and cleared through the Department of Justice.
