Assist the Payroll Manager in the efficient operation of processing payroll. Primarily responsible for processing payroll and maintaining the database regarding salary and pay. Performs duties related to payroll operations, including recording hours of work, processing time records,compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating payrolls, in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws. Must be trusted with sensitive and confidential information. Cooperate with all departments to increase payroll service performance and improve the payroll system.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED, required. An Associate of Arts Degree in related field, preferred.
3 years of payroll processing experience. Knowledge of ADP, Paychex, or any other payroll processing system from a third-party vendor.
Solid understanding of legislation and regulations pertaining to payroll.
Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
Read and interpret documents and reports
Write routine reports and correspondence
Maintain accurate and organized records
Ability to speak to customers or employees of organization
Calculates figures and amounts using a 10-Key calculator
Ability to assume responsibility for assignments and to perform them in accordance with minimal supervision
Deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations
Use computer software programs and/or other applications (working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Microsoft Excel; Word; Outlook;and 10 key)
Excellent communication and detail oriented
Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding work related materials
Ability to work well under pressure and or tight deadlines even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments
Positive attitude with excellent customer service skills
Good interpersonal and communications skills; with proper phone etiquette
Regular attendance Monday through Friday, assigned work schedule depending on department needs
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information at all times.
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
