The Program Coordinator under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Program is responsible for coordinating and supporting the efficient operation of all components at the MAOF Skill Center. This role assists in implementing program activities, monitoring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and ensuring that participants receive quality workforce development services. The Program Coordinator works closely with staff, participants, and community partners to support enrollment, service delivery, and reporting, contributing to the overall success and effectiveness of the WIA Program.
This is not a hybrid or remote position. The Case Worker will primarily work in an office setting and in the field, requiring driving/travel to meet with clients, attend meetings, and perform community outreach.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable for the daily implementation of program services to participants in alignment with contract guidelines.
Monitors an active caseload of eligible WIA clients, ensuring proper documentation, service delivery, and timely reporting.
Maintains accurate case records and files for each participant, including service needs, activities, and follow-ups.
Plans, organizes, and manages caseload to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Interviews clients, completes required forms, and updates records on a monthly basis.
Assesses and evaluates participants’ employment and training needs to develop individualized service plans.
Provides counseling, guidance, and job readiness support to ensure participants are prepared to assume job responsibilities.
Offers workforce development services, including skills assessments, job placement, job retention, and job readiness workshops.
Provides social service information, referrals, and initiates referral processes; schedules appointments with external service providers as needed.
Conducts follow-up with participants after job placement to ensure retention, stability, and long-term success.
Screens applicants for program eligibility, conduct interviews, and provide orientation to new clients.
Discusses complex cases with the Program Director for the purpose of mandated referrals to appropriate partners/providers.
Provides interpreter services to program clients/participants as required.
Leads program recruitment efforts through strong community outreach and partnerships with local organizations.
Maintains professional relationships with vendors, training facilities, vocational schools, and employers.
Partners with employers to develop work experience, training opportunities, and direct job placements for participants.
Monitors available employment opportunities to connect participants with potential job matches.
Assists with the development and implementation of outreach and recruitment strategies to expand program reach.
Translates, prepares, and edits correspondence, memoranda, forms, flyers, and other program-related materials as directed. Interprets as needed.
Maintainsad equate supplies of forms and program documents.
Ensures confidentiality of all client files and records, maintaining compliance with program and organizational standards.
Maintains accurate calendars of events, appointments, and schedules to support efficient program operations.
Attends required conferences, workshops, and trainings to support professional growth and program compliance.
Demonstrates strong listening and communication skills when working with participants.
Performsother related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree in social work, Sociology, Psychology, orrelated field preferred.
Minimum of two (2) yearsof office experience.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate reports and maintain professional correspondence.
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines, including adapting to competing requirements and changing priorities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
Self-motivated, proactive, and effective in problem-solving.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to maintain cooperative, diplomatic, and professional working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, participants, and the public.
Ability to work the required schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Ability to represent MAOF skill fully, professionally, and with comprehensive knowledge of program services.
Ability to contribute and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
Demonstrates a positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to excellent customer service.
For driving purposes only - Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation at all times.
