Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, the Program Supervisor is responsible for supporting the overall management and daily operations of the CalWORKs Program. The Program Supervisor provides direct supervision and guidance to program staff, ensuring the effective delivery of case management services and compliance with program requirements. This role supports the development of staff, monitors program performance, and assists with implementing policies and procedures to meet contractual obligations and agency goals. The Program Supervisor also serves as a resource for staff and participants, helping to resolve issues, maintain quality standards, and promote a supportive and effective service environment. This is an on-siteposition; remote work arrangements are not available.
Position requires the use of a personal vehicle; must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid California driver’s license, maintain an acceptable driving record, hold current automobile insurance, and have access to a personal automobile at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Program Director and with minimal supervision, the Program Supervisor is responsible for performing the following duties:
Directly supervises department staff and oversees all work performed to meet contractand funding terms and conditions.
Ensures compliance with County, State, and Federal regulations, as well as contractual requirements governing childcare subsidy programs and their delivery.
Prepares and analyzes reports to maximize program outcomes and support data-driven decision-making.
Assists the Program Director with the preparation and management of external and internal audits.
Manages a team of Family Case Specialists and support staff, coordinating activities that support the effective delivery of services.
Provides supervisory support for department staff, including conducting performance evaluations, addressing non-compliance cases, and guiding task-related activities.
Partners with the Program Director to plan and implement strategies that enhance program quality and identify opportunities for staff training and professional development.
Ensures the achievement of program goals and objectives in alignment with agency standards.
Provides staff performance feed back to the Program Director to support goal setting, coaching, and case management oversight.
Serves as a liaison with other departments to support collaborative program operations.
Represents the program and agency at professional organizations, community meetings, and events.
Attends conferences, workshops, and training, including those requiring travel.
Maintains strict confidentiality of program information and records at all times.
Monitors staff attendance and punctuality and assist with payroll processing.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; high school diploma and five (5) years of directly relatedwork experience may substitute for a degree.
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience with families and children.
Knowledge of County, State, and Federal regulations and contract requirements related to childcare subsidy programs and their delivery.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage workload daily.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
Self-motivated, problem solver, and results-oriented.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook).
Ability to maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the public must be able to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues.
Ability to represent MAOF in a professional, competent, and respectful manner at all times.
Must be finger printed and cleared through the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Ability to work a regular schedule, Monday through Friday, with availability to supervise program staff who may work evenings and weekends.
Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, have access to a reliable motor vehicle, and maintain appropriate automobile liability insurance coverage.
Must be willing to travel as needed.
