GENERALSUMMARY:

Provides support to administration, providers, and other departments to ensure compliance with county and state guidelines. Will aid in the provision of services necessary to permit parents and children to benefit from and to be able to continue participation in MAOF Monterey County programs.

RESPONSIBILITIESAND DUTIES:

  • Receive and process documentation to determine provider eligibility for subsidized child care programs.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and approve or deny within a specified time frame.
  • Follow up with providers to request missing or incomplete documentation.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for their assigned caseload.
  • Documents and submits all monthly attendance documentation and reports.
  • Responsible for properly copying and filing all attendance data received.
  • Records and maintains records (phone log and NOHO notes) for all placed and received calls.
  • Within team structure, assists administration with, or as directed, provides assistance and follows through on problem situations identified.
  • Completes the necessary follow-up and consultation with all parents who identify supportive service needs.
  • As assigned, assists in the set-up and/or sets up client/vendor/resource files.
  • Assists in the development of, or develops counseling, health, legal, economic and social resources.
  • Organize all inactive files at the end of each fiscal year in accordance with facility storage processes.
  • Assists in the parent education program, including notifying parents of available services through MAOF and the community of Monterey County.
  • Conducts site/home visits as necessary
  • Performs liaison or advocacy activities as requested.
  • Assist administration in fulfilling audits and other program needs.
  • Delivers mail to FedEx, local post office,and/or other locations as assigned, in accordance with established mail schedules.
  • Responsible for all large mailings.
  • Participates in parent education and advisory group meetings.
  • Identify excessive and or unreported absences and report them to the case worker.
  • Documents service needs, requests,action taken, follow-up solutions, absences, resources contacted and developed and any other activities in a suitable manner for program accountability required by the State Department of Education and the MAOF Administration.
  • Assist with community events/special events as requested by the Program Director.
  • Attends staff meetings, workshops,and conferences, as assigned.
  • Carries out any other activities that may be necessary for the proper implementation of the program.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual(English/Spanish) required.
  • Self-motivated and a problem solver.
  • Excellent organizational skills; knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to successfully interface with others.
  • Must have a positive attitude with a desire to work with and promote the welfare of children and their families.
  • Regular attendance, Monday through Friday, assigned schedule.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Follows rules, regulations, and policies; positively contributes to implementing changes.
  • Deals with issues directly, in a respectful and timely manner.
  • Sensitive to the needs of others.
  • Sincere commitment to providing services to children and the community.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers,supervisors, and the public.
  • Work as part of a team and collaborate with co-workers; and complete projects under tight deadlines even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments.
  • Experience in community service/social work is desired.
  • Must have own automobile, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
