GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the direction of the Program Director and/or designee, the Site Supervisor oversees the daily operations of an assigned Child Care/Pre-School Center and Partnership Programs. This position ensures compliance with applicable licensing regulations, funding requirements, and MAOF policies while providing leadership and support to staff, maintaining a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment, and promoting high-quality services for children and families. This is an on-site position requiring regular presence at assigned centers and travel for meetings, emergencies, and outreach activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the daily operations of the assigned center to ensure compliance with California licensing regulations, funding requirements, and MAOF policies and procedures.
  • Supervise, mentor, evaluate, and support teaching staff to promote high-quality instruction, professional growth, and program effectiveness.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and required child-to-teacher ratios in accordance with state regulations.
  • Monitor curriculum implementation, review lesson plans, and ensure developmentally appropriate teaching practices are consistently implemented.
  • Ensure required child assessments, parent conferences, and program documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor attendance, enrollment, and required reports to ensure compliance with program and funding requirements.
  • Promote positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners through effective communication and family engagement.
  • Conduct staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing coaching to support program quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and supervision of children by implementing appropriate sanitation, nutrition, emergency preparedness, and safety procedures.
  • Oversee the implementation of the food program, including accommodations for children with dietary restrictions and food allergies.
  • Monitor staff certifications, permits, Pediatric CPR, and First Aid certifications to ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, documentation, supply requests, and other programrecords in a timely manner.
  • Assist with NAEYC accreditation activities, quality improvement initiatives, and other program development efforts.
  • Serveas a Mandated Reporter in accordance with California law.
  • Provide classroom support and serve as a Teacher when necessary to maintain program operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the successful implementation of the MAOF Child Care and Development Program.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Three(3) semester units in Infant/Toddler Care required for Infant/Toddler centers; not required for CSPP centers.
  • Six(6) semester units in supervision and/or administration in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
  • Two(2) semester units in adult supervision in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of management or supervisory experience in an early childhood education setting.
  • Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Completion of the required eight (8) hour Preventive Health Practices course.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles, licensing regulations, and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Ability to supervise staff, analyze program operations, solve problems, and maintain positive working relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid California Driver's License, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile liability insurance.
  • Must successfully complete all pre-employment health requirements, including aphysical examination, Tuberculosis (TB) clearance, required immunizations, and criminal background clearances through the FBI, DOJ, and CACI prior to employment.
  • Must maintain Live Scan fingerprint clearance throughout employment.
  • Regular attendance is required. This is an on-site position requiring travel formeetings, emergencies, and outreach activities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required tostand, walk, bend, reach, use hands to handle objects, communicate effectively,and interact with children, staff, and families. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The worke nvironment is primarily located within an early childhood education setting and may include classrooms, outdoor play areas, kitchens, and administrative offices. Employees may be exposed to varying noise levels, cleaning products, infectious illnesses common to child care settings, and changing weather conditions while supervising outdoor activities. This position also requiresthe use of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, and photocopiers.
