R&R Specialist will facilitate the use of the services of the Resource & Referral (R&R) program to the public and child care providers. The R&R Specialist will carry out a variety of duties to insure that all program components are offered to the community and funding terms & conditions are followed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Provide referrals to the community,inform parents/guardians of the choices that parents have by informing them of the different options available to them.
Attend meetings and other community activities as assigned, such as outreach events.
Maintain up to date provider and caller records per the California Data Standardization guidelines and R&R Database.
Provide technical assistance and information to callers on choosing quality childcare options, early care and education and parenting issues, special education services, and public policy effecting children.
Provide resources that are available to the community and educational entities such as school districts, Regional Centers, Community Mental Health centers, and any other services needed.
Attends staff meetings, conferences and workshops as assigned.
Assist with mailings, copying,filing or any other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the program director.
Assist in the maintenance of resource library and distribution of library materials according to established procedures.
Support the R&R and other subsidy programs by keeping abreast of changes that affect the programs,including advocacy and public policy.
Maintain program compliance through knowledge of the Funding Terms & Conditions, and any other programs that fall under the R&R program, stay informed of changes in the early care and education.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum2 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education or related fields preferred or equivalent knowledge from work experience.
Bilingual English/Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), required.
Recommended to have a minimum of 12 units in early childhood education.
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for children.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children,parents, staff, volunteers and providers from diverse cultural, ethnic and socio-economic background.
Strong intrapersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with a diverse client populations
Ability to be flexible, innovative and adapt to the changing needs of the program, department and agency.
Demonstrated ability to organize and present program information and community resources effectively.
Excellent customer service skills and experience working as a member of a team.
Excellent verbal, written communication and organizational skills.
Experience in working with excel, creating fliers and other materials using word and publisher.
Ability to travel by airplane, vehicle, train as required
Flexible schedule to work evenings, weekends, to meet the needs of the program.
Must possess own vehicle, a valid CA driver’s license and insurance coverage with meets CA standards.
TB and Fingerprint clearance.
