Under general supervision the Home Visitor works with the parents and children within the family home environment. Works on a one-to-one basis with the primary caregiver of the child.
Qualifications
BA degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Child Development or related field.
A valid Teacher Permit from the CCTC, preferred.
Pediatric First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certified.
Minimum of 24 Units in Child Development.
Two(2) years paid experience working with children 0-5. Experience working with Infant/toddlers is highly desirable.
Ability to communicate, both oral and written.
Ability to speak, read and write English well enough to understand and be understood by others.
Ability to relate to diverse groups of people including low-income families.
Sensitive to others needs.
Maintain confidentiality.
Sincere commitment to providing services to children and the community.
Ability to assess and respond quickly to varied situations.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.
Special Qualifications
Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination, drug screening and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance.
Must provide vaccination records for Pertussis (Tdap), Measles (MMR) and Influenza(optional).
Will be fingerprinted and must clear through DOJ and FBI.
Must possess own vehicle, valid California Driver’s License and at minimum, general liability automobile insurance.
