The QSLA Program Coach will be providing technical support in the implementation of the quality improvement/professional development coaching components of the Quality Rating and Improvement System(QRIS) programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree is required; master’s degree, or equivalent experience, preferred in child development, early childhood education, or related field.
Minimum of 1 year as a Program coach or similar field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience of relevant experience including working with children in early childhood education setting.
Experience with quality improvement programs with a strength-based approach.
Knowledge,understanding, and experience with quality rating tools such as CLASS and the Environmental Rating Scales (ERS). Training to reliability preferred.
Familiarity with California Child Development Permit and Quality Continuum Framework –Rating Matrix.
Knowledge,understanding, and experience with child observation tools such as the ASQ-3,ASQ:SE, and the DRDP. Strong working knowledge of the Los Angeles childcare delivery system and childcare provider population. Direct experience working with center-based programs and/or family childcare providers.
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with diverse client populations.
Effective time management and organizational skills and the ability to successfully meet position requirements.
Experience working with adults and facilitating supportive coaching conversations and encouraging professional growth.
Ability to work collaboratively with others at all levels of an organization and work cooperatively as part of a team with colleagues and with staff from different agencies.
Strong computer skills and the ability to enter coaching data as required.
Ability to travel to provide in-person support to sites in Los Angeles County. May also be required to travel by airplane, vehicle, train, when required.
Flexible schedule to work evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the programs.
Bilingual- English & Spanish required.
Must possess own vehicle, a current/valid California Driver’s License and at minimum, general liability automobile insurance.
