Job Summary
Provide QSLA coaching services, technical assistance and training services in alignment with the QIRS Coaching model by providing mentoring and support to program participants. Conduct virtual,on-site and in-person coaching sessions, training and technical assistance in developmentally appropriate curriculum and practice.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education,Child Development, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 1 year as a Program Coach or similar field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience of relevant experience including working with children in Early Childhood Education setting.
Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
Experience with the following quality improvement programs with a strength based approach.
Strong working knowledge of quality ratings tools such as CLASS, Environmental Rating Scales, Ages & Stages questionnaire, highly desired. Training to reliability preferred.
Effective written & verbal skills and computer experience with Microsoft Outlook, Power point and Internet search engines. Ability to enter coaching data as required.
Strong interpersonal skills including ability to work effectively with diverse client population.
Knowledge,understanding, and experience with child observation tools such as the ASQ-3,ASQ:SE, and the DRDP. Strong working knowledge of the Los Angeles childcare delivery system and childcare provider population. Direct experience working with center-based programs and/or family childcare providers.
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with diverse client populations.
Previous experience demonstrates effective decision-making skills and ability to work autonomously with multiple sites.
Effective time management and organizational skills and the ability to successfully meet position requirements.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Experience and comfort working with adults and facilitating supportive coaching conversations and encouraging professional growth and learning.
Ability to work collaboratively with others at all levels of an organization and work cooperatively as part of a team with colleagues and with staff from different agencies.
Ability to be flexible, innovative and adapt to the changing needs of the program,department and agency.
Ability to travel by airplane, vehicle, train, as required.
Flexible schedule to work evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the programs.
Special Qualifications
Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination, drug screening and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance.
Must provide vaccination records for Pertussis (Tdap), Measles (MMR) and Influenza (optional).
Will be fingerprinted and must clear through DOJ and FBI.
Must possess own vehicle, valid California Driver’s License and at minimum, general liability automobile insurance.
Must provide proof of COVID 19 vaccination or apply for exemption.
