Under the direction of the program director and or designee, assist in the coordination of the daily operations of the Child Care/Pre-School Center and Partnership Programs, enforces regulations of the program guidelines, implements, and maintains an appropriate environment for the children and staff; and performs related work as required. This is an on-site position and requires regular presence at the childcare centers or designated facility. Driving required for emergencies, meetings, and supporting outreach activities, etc. This is an on-site position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, funding requirements, and MAOF policies and procedures.
Supervise, coach, train, and evaluate center staff to support high-quality early childhood education and achievement of program goals.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels, child-to-teacher ratios, and a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children.
Monitor curriculum implementation, lesson plans, child assessments, parent conferences, and required program documentation.
Build positive relationships with families by providing information on children's development, facilitating parent meetings, and supporting enrollment activities.
Monitor enrollment, attendance, and required reports to ensure accurate program and fiscal documentation.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, nutrition, sanitation, emergency preparedness, and mandated reporting requirements.
Coordinate staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing communication with program leadership.
Manage center operations, including supplies, equipment, food program compliance, and overall facility cleanliness.
Collaborate with the Program Manager to support accreditation efforts, program improvements, and other agency initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Child Development Site Supervisor Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Three (3) Infant/Toddler units required for Infant/Toddler centers.
Current Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and Preventive Health Practices certifications.
Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in an Early Childhood Education setting.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and computer skills.
Ability to build positive working relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
Valid California Driver's License, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile liability insurance.
Must successfully meet all health, fingerprinting, criminal background (DOJ, FBI, and CACI), and immunization requirements as a condition of employment.
