MAOF uses a multi-generational approach to uplift the whole family. We provide social services for infants through seniors across four pillars: early child education services, senior services, community development services, and community partnership services.

Since our founding in 1963 in Los Angeles, we have grown to become one of the largest nonprofits in California. We maintain an operating budget of over $100 million annually, and we serve over 125,000 people per year across these seven counties: Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, San Diego, Ventura, Kern, and Monterey.

When we began providing support to the community in the 1960s, we focused on the Mexican-American community at that time. As our local Latino community grew beyond Mexican-Americans, we began serving the Latino community more broadly. Today, MAOF is proud to serve people from all racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Our Journey
is Our Legacy

MAOF was founded in 1963 by Latino civil rights leader and social entrepreneur,  Dionicio Morales, after a meeting with then-Vice President Lyndon Johnson at the White House.
