Job Summary
Infant Toddler Teacher will provide planned opportunities for children in activities designed to promote social, physical and cognitive growth and development. Responsible to plan individual and group activities that are designed to promote each child’s individual strengths as a result of ongoing assessments and observations. Incorporates parent’s goals for their child into the daily activities.
Qualifications
Must have a California Childrens Center Permit or a California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit from the Commission on Teacher If do not currently have an AA, will be placed on a professional staff development plan and required to continuously complete course towards degree.
6 Infant/Toddler units are highly preferred. If you do not currently have , will be required to complete within 1year of employment.
A minimum of two (2) years paid experience working with children 0-5. Experience working with Infant/Toddlers is highly desirable.
Ability to verbally communicate with parents, children, families, and others in a effective manner.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to interact with people of all levels confidentially, effectively, and professionally.
Ability to maintain a positive work environment and relationships.
Ability to include parental input into goals for a child’s development.
Ability to relate to diverse groups of people including low-income families.
Sensitive to the needs of others.
Maintain confidentiality.
Bilingual(English/Spanish) preferred.
Special Qualifications
Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination, drug screening and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance.
Must provide vaccination records for Pertussis (Tdap), Measles (MMR) and Influenza (optional).
Will be fingerprinted and must clear through DOJ and FBI.
Must possess own vehicle, valid California Driver’s License and at minimum, general liability automobile insurance.
Hold a valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
