Under the direct supervision of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Clerk will mainly serve as a back-up person in payroll processing, finalize reports as basis for remitting payments to vendors for employee deductions, and other routine tasks to ensure that payroll processing is completed in the most effective manner.
Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of paid payroll experience with proficiency in utilizing payroll software and systems, preferably Paychex Flex.
High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three college semester units in accounting; Associate of Arts degree preferred.
Strong understanding of payroll processing procedures and regulations.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Knowledge of tax laws and regulations pertaining to payroll.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively addressing payroll inquiries with employees.
Experience with basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending work-related material.
Strong computer skills, including typing, system and software knowledge, with a working knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Team player with effective collaboration skills.
Ability to multitask under pressure, meet specific deadlines, and work independently in a time-sensitive environment.
Available to work Monday through Friday on a regular schedule.
Ability to maintain cooperative and diplomatic working relationships with colleagues and supervisors, collaborate within the department, and complete projects under tight deadlines amidst changing requirements.
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
